Authentic learningFor students' authentic learning to take place, I as a teacher support the learning environment where students are engaged with experimental and experiential activities. The lessons also welcome students' inquiry, and meet their interest. Lastly, over time students are encouraged for self-correction for their own improvement. And I am willing to help students come to understand that constructive criticism by both I and their peers is essential for their progress and authentic learning.
In the picture, Mikah and Megan were figuring out to build the descending and ascending ramps for a ball to be able to pass through. Looking at this vicarious experience, I recognize that their mind were engaged with their inquiring experiment. Also with passing time and interest in what they were being involved, it is no doubt that they self-corrected themselves, and gave feedback to each other's attempts. So this experimental comprise the opportunities for authentic learning.
